Lenovo in Brief — IFA 2026: AI, Colors and Innovation

Lenovo at a glance - IFA 2026: AI, colors and innovations

IFA 2026 in Berlin turned into a real show of strength for Lenovo - the company simultaneously presented colorful consumer laptops, professional AI workstations, revolutionary screen concepts and ultralight business notebooks. It was one of the richest weeks in the brand's history, and we have gathered all the most important launches and news for you in one place.

IdeaPad Vibe - seven colors versus the MacBook Neo

IdeaPad Vibe - seven colors versus the MacBook Neo

One of the biggest surprises of IFA 2026 was the IdeaPad Vibe - a laptop that Lenovo openly positions as a competitor to the Apple MacBook Neo. The device is available in two sizes (14 and 15 inches) and as many as seven color variants developed in cooperation with the Pantone Color Institute: Chill Blue, Zen Green, Spicy Gold, Radiant Coral, Dreamy Violet, Lowkey Grey and Moody Blue. Apple offers the MacBook Neo in only four colors, which gives Lenovo a clear marketing advantage here.

The starting price is $699 - close to Apple's offer - and versions with AMD and Qualcomm processors will go on sale (in October and November respectively), while variants with Intel Wildcat Lake are expected to reach stores at a later date. Importantly, Lenovo provides a dedicated configurator that lets users mix and match the case color with the keyboard color, and replaceable custom keycaps allow even deeper personalization.

A Windows Central journalist who had the chance to see the IdeaPad Vibe in person in New York stresses that the color aspect is a more intriguing feature of the product than the typically promoted technical parameters - AI, processors or battery life. For the first time in its history, Lenovo makes color the main element of a product campaign, rather than just an option on the configuration list.

The offer is aimed both at consumers looking to express their own style and at companies that want to stand out on the business laptop market. Lenovo proves that in the PC segment there is still room for design thinking on the level of the fashion or automotive industries.

Yoga Pro 9n and Yoga 9n 2-in-1 - NVIDIA RTX Spark superchips in laptops

Yoga Pro 9n and Yoga 9n 2-in-1 - NVIDIA RTX Spark superchips in laptops

At IFA 2026 Lenovo presented two flagship laptops with the new NVIDIA RTX Spark platform - the 15.3-inch Yoga Pro 9n and the 16-inch Yoga 9n 2-in-1. Both devices are based on an ARM-architecture Grace CPU with up to 20 cores and an integrated Blackwell GPU with 6144 cores. It is a joint project of NVIDIA and MediaTek using the proprietary NVLink-C2C connection, which integrates the CPU and GPU in a single package.

The key specification that attracts the attention of professionals is memory. The Yoga Pro 9n offers up to 128 GB of unified LPDDR5X-9400 memory, while the Yoga 9n 2-in-1 offers up to 64 GB. Such a memory pool makes it possible to run large language models directly on the device, without having to use external cloud APIs - which is crucial for companies processing sensitive data.

In terms of display, the Yoga Pro 9n offers a 2560√ó1600 OLED panel with brightness of up to 1100 nits, and storage reaches 4 TB. The processor TDP in this model can be up to 80 W, which places it among true mobile workstations. Despite its advanced specification, the Pro 9n weighs just 1.65 kg - an impressive result for such a configuration.

The Yoga Pro 9n was presented at Computex, while the 2-in-1 version debuted at IFA. Both models will be available in several configuration variants, allowing you to match the power to specific needs - from content creators to AI and data security specialists.

ThinkCentre X Ultra - 128 GB of unified memory in a 1.6-liter box

ThinkCentre X Ultra - 128 GB of unified memory in a 1.6-liter box

If there had to be one product of the week from an engineering point of view, it would be the ThinkCentre X Ultra. This compact workstation measuring just 7.2 √ó 7.2 √ó 2 inches (1.6 liters in volume) houses an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 processor with 16 Zen 5 cores, an integrated Radeon 8065S GPU with 40 compute units and an NPU with 55 TOPS of performance. All of this in a chassis much smaller than a traditional workstation.

However, the most attention is drawn by the option to configure it with 128 GB of unified LPDDR5X memory, shared by the processor and the graphics card. Such an architecture makes it possible to handle AI models that would normally require dedicated graphics cards with 24-32 GB of VRAM. In addition, there are two M.2 Gen5 slots with SSDs of up to 4 TB each, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and Thunderbolt 4.

Lenovo went a step further and allows four ThinkCentre X Ultra devices to be clustered in a single rack, giving a total of 512 GB of unified memory. Such a cluster offers a real alternative to expensive GPU servers for running large language models locally, extended context windows and multi-agent workflows - without having to use the cloud.

The device supports both Linux and Windows, and in the AMD Ryzen AI Developer Center package the user will find preconfigured AI models and developer tools. Enterprise-class security is provided by the ThinkShield system. The starting price is $3,699, and the launch is scheduled for November 2026.

Think Family for business - hybrid AI, ThinkBook 14x and security

Think Family for business - hybrid AI, ThinkBook 14x and security

In parallel with the consumer launches, Lenovo presented an extensive Think Family line of devices aimed at enterprises. The new solutions include devices, displays and security systems dedicated to hybrid artificial intelligence deployments - from edge devices through on-premises systems to the cloud. The whole range is wrapped in ThinkShield security, which is meant to ensure scalable and secure AI deployments in large organizations.

A particularly interesting element of the portfolio is the ThinkBook 14x Gen 2 - an ultralight notebook weighing just 990 grams, equipped with Intel Core 7 Series 3 processors and an optional 14-inch 2.8K OLED 120 Hz panel with DCI-P3 coverage. The starting price is $999.99, and availability is planned for the first quarter of 2027.

Surprisingly, the ThinkBook 14x Gen 2 is the only product in the entire "Hybrid AI for Business" portfolio that contains no claims related to artificial intelligence - no TOPS figures, no Copilot+ badge. TechRadar suggests this may be a deliberate move, intended to attract users tired of the marketing overload of AI. The laptop drops Thunderbolt and USB4, and offers WiFi 6E and an HDMI 2.1 port supporting a maximum of 4K 60Hz - it is a device for those who care about weight and mobility, not maximum connectivity.

It is worth mentioning that if you are looking for parts for older, proven Lenovo business models - such as the ThinkPad X1 Carbon - you will find them in our shop's offer. It is one of the most frequently serviced ThinkPad series.

Project Swan and Project AeroBlade - concepts that may reach the market

Project Swan and Project AeroBlade - concepts that may reach the market

IFA 2026 is also the traditional showcase of Lenovo concepts - and this year the company presented two that attracted particular interest. The first of them, ThinkBook Project Swan, is a laptop with a rollable screen that expands horizontally from 14 to 17 inches while maintaining a 16:9 aspect ratio. It is a more restrained and practical version of this technology than Lenovo's previous experiments with vertically expanding displays.

A Windows Central journalist who had the chance to test Project Swan on site stresses that it is the first Lenovo rollable laptop concept that actually seems ready to enter the market. The strength of the device is precisely its moderation - it works smoothly as a 14-inch laptop and opens up to 17 inches when the user needs more screen space. A precedent already exists: the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable is an example of a concept that evolved into a real product available for sale.

The second concept, Project AeroBlade, goes in a completely different direction: instead of the screen, it experiments with cooling. The laptop is based on solid-state cooling technology from Frore Systems (AirJet modules), completely eliminating traditional fans. The result? A 14-inch notebook less than 10 mm thick and weighing less than 830 grams - clearly thinner and lighter than the current ThinkPad X1 Carbon (14 mm thick, about 1 kg). No fan also means no noise, which for many business users is a decisive factor.

Both projects show that Lenovo is intensively searching for the form of the laptop of the future - and increasingly chooses practicality over spectacle.

The ThinkPad community: X1 Carbon for Linux and a P1 Gen 9 review

The ThinkPad community: X1 Carbon for Linux and a P1 Gen 9 review

Amid the buzz of the IFA launches, there is also no shortage of voices from long-time users. Two interesting posts appeared this week on Reddit r/thinkpad. The first is about the ThinkPad X1 Carbon 14 Gen as the ideal machine for working with Linux - the community highlights excellent compatibility with various distributions, build quality, reliability and mobility. It is one of the most frequently recommended laptops among developers and IT administrators.

The second post is a detailed review of the ThinkPad P1 Gen 9 after two weeks of daily use. The test configuration included an Intel Core Ultra 9 386H processor, an NVIDIA RTX PRO 2000 Blackwell card, 64 GB of LPCAMM2-8533 RAM, a 4 TB PCIe 5.0 NVMe drive and a 16" 3200√ó2000 Tandem OLED display with 40-120 Hz VRR refresh. The author, a programmer switching from a MacBook Pro, gave the device a very positive rating. For the ThinkPad P1 Gen 9, as well as Gen 7 and 8, we have original fan and heatsink assemblies: parts for ThinkPad P1.

Among the pros he listed: excellent performance with a relatively low noise level, exceptional OLED panel quality, much better battery life than in previous generations (90 Wh battery), the return of the WWAN module and - classically for a ThinkPad - a great keyboard and trackpad. The cons included the high price, difficulty cleaning the cooling system and occasional VRR problems.

For those who own older models from the P or T series and are looking for parts - the ThinkPad T480 is one of the most frequently serviced models, for which we offer a wide range of components.

A major security incident - a Lenovo ID flaw hit Dropbox accounts

The week was not free of bad news, however. TechRadar reported a serious security incident in which hackers exploited a flaw in the Lenovo ID email verification system to take over more than 5000 Dropbox accounts. The attack mechanism was disturbingly simple: a bug in the Lenovo ID system allowed accounts to be registered using victims' email addresses without proper confirmation. The forged identities were then used to log in to linked Dropbox accounts.

The incident took place between 4 and 21 August 2026. Most of the attacked accounts did not have two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled, and in about a third of them traces of access to stored data were found. Dropbox reacted quickly - it disabled the option to log in via Lenovo ID, invalidated active sessions and urged users to change their passwords and activate 2FA.

The case is a serious reminder that even trusted platforms can become an attack vector if identity verification processes at external providers are not rigorous enough. If you use Lenovo ID, make sure your account has two-step authentication enabled - regardless of which services you use to log in through this ID.
