Lenovo in Brief — Tablets, ThinkPads and Surprises

The last few weeks in the Lenovo world have brought a real flood of news - from gaming tablets with laptop-class screens, through a business ThinkPad with replaceable memory, to a viral cashback inspired by a TikTok meme. We have gathered the most important information in one place for you, so you don't have to follow dozens of websites. Here is everything worth knowing about Lenovo this week.

Legion Y900 - gaming tablets in two sizes

Lenovo has officially unveiled the Legion Y900 series - a new line of gaming tablets that stands out from the existing range primarily through its screen size. Until now, tablets in the Legion family did not exceed 8.8 inches; now models with 11.1-inch and 13-inch screens will go on sale, which brings their dimensions close to small gaming laptops.

Both variants are equipped with fast processors and high-quality displays, typical of the premium Legion segment. The larger screen is Lenovo's response to real market demand - mobile gamers and professionals increasingly reach for tablets that offer more workspace without having to carry a full-size laptop.

At launch, the series is going on sale only in the Chinese market, which is a typical Lenovo strategy when introducing new form factors - it is worth watching, however, whether and when the Y900 will appear in global sales. The growing interest in large gaming tablets is visible not only at Lenovo, so such a move seems a logical step forward for the whole Legion line.

ThinkPad T14 Gen 7 - repairability and LPCAMM2 memory

The Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 7 is one of the most interesting business laptops of this year, and its main strength is by no means the processor or the screen - but a design philosophy focused on the longevity of the hardware. The model with a 14.5-inch screen is available with an Intel Core Ultra Series 3 "Panther Lake" or an AMD Ryzen AI PRO 400 "Gorgon Point" processor, which gives companies flexibility in choosing a platform.

The key innovation is the use of LPCAMM2 memory - a new standard that combines the advantages of fast, integrated memory with the possibility of physical replacement by the user or a service technician. This is a very important change from the perspective of IT managers who manage hardware fleets: a RAM upgrade no longer requires specialist tools or removing the motherboard.

The availability of the other serviceable components is just as important. Lenovo has designed the keyboard, battery, fans and ports so that they are easy to replace yourself. In the context of growing sustainability requirements and the need to reduce total cost of ownership (TCO) - the ThinkPad T14 Gen 7 is the laptop answer to the needs of a modern enterprise.

If you use older models from this line - such as ThinkPad T14 of previous generations - remember that you can find original spare parts for these devices in the abcdeal.pl shop.

Magic Bay in the ThinkPad - modularity enters the business world

Lenovo has been experimenting with the Magic Bay system in Yoga laptops for some time - now this technology is coming to the ThinkPad family for the first time. The ecosystem of modular accessories works via pogo pin connectors placed on the notebook's lid, which allows additional devices to be connected instantly without cables or external hubs.

The Magic Bay accessory range includes, among others, a high-resolution webcam, a light for illuminating your face during video conferences, an LTE/5G cellular modem and a miniature additional display. Each of these devices can be attached and removed in a few seconds, which makes the ThinkPad a de facto configurable platform rather than just a fixed set of components.

For business users who often work in different environments - the office, home, a hotel or a conference room - the ability to quickly adapt the hardware to specific needs is real value. Magic Bay eliminates the need to carry a bag full of gadgets, consolidating the most important peripherals in one lightweight ecosystem attached to the laptop lid.

Legion 9i Gen 10 and Yoga Pro 7a - flagships for the demanding

TechSpot has published an extensive review of the Lenovo Legion 9i Gen 10 in its 18-inch version and the conclusions are unambiguous: it is a true desktop replacement. The 240 Hz screen, premium chassis finish and sixth-generation processor handle the most demanding games and applications without any problem. The reviewers emphasise that the Legion 9i Gen 10 is one of the best-built gaming laptops on the market - although also one of the most expensive.

The Lenovo Yoga Pro 7a (15" Gen 11) looks just as impressive - a laptop aimed at content creators and designers. Its 15.3-inch 2.5K OLED screen delights with image quality, and support for up to 128 GB of RAM means the device can easily handle advanced video editing or work in CAD applications. The heart of the machine is the AMD Strix Halo processor.

Particularly noteworthy is the large Force Pad touchpad with Wacom technology in the Yoga Pro 7a, which, combined with the included Lenovo Yoga Pen Gen 2, turns the laptop into a full-fledged graphics tablet. Digital artists and illustrators thus gain a precise drawing tool without having to buy an external graphics tablet.

Both models confirm that in 2026 Lenovo has no intention of letting up in the premium segment - both in gaming and in the creative segment.

Tablets for everyone - ThinkTab X11, ThinkTab 11S and Tab Plus Gen 2

Lenovo is consistently expanding its tablet range, reaching very different groups of customers. The ThinkTab X11 is a proposition for corporate customers - an Android tablet powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, available for 500 dollars. Its biggest distinguishing feature is a user-replaceable battery, an absolutely unique feature on the tablet market and extremely valuable in a business environment where continuity of work is a priority.

The Lenovo ThinkTab 11S has also appeared on the market - an affordably priced model aimed at users looking for a solid device for work and study. The 11-inch screen, the design typical of the ThinkTab series and good value for money make it a sensible choice for pupils, students and employees who need a second screen for everyday tasks.

The Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2, on the other hand, goes in a completely different direction - it is a multimedia tablet with a 12.1-inch screen with a resolution of 2560√ó1600 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate and 800 nits of brightness. It supports Dolby Vision and HDR10, and on the back of the casing we find a massive speaker that is the hallmark of this model. All this for 400 dollars, which places it attractively in the mid-price segment.

Three different tablets, three different philosophies - but each of them shows that Lenovo takes the segment of mobile devices with large screens seriously.

800 dollars for a piece of copper wire - beware of service quotes

This story is going around the internet and perfectly illustrates why it is always worth seeking a second opinion before accepting a manufacturer's service quote. The owner of a Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Pro X reported a screen fault to an authorised Lenovo service centre. The diagnosis? Replacement of the motherboard for over 800 dollars. For a laptop that is several years old, such an amount often means a decision to scrap the device.

Fortunately, the owner decided to take the device to an independent service, Electronics Repair School. The specialist quickly located the actual cause of the failure - a break in a connection, which he fixed with a piece of copper wire. The cost of the repair was many times lower than the manufacturer's proposal, and the laptop came back to life fully working.

This story has several important morals. First: an authorised service is not always the only option, and first quotes can be heavily inflated. Second: the more repairable a laptop is (and the ThinkPad T14 Gen 7 described earlier is going in exactly this direction), the greater the chance of a sensible repair without ruining your wallet. Third: if you own an older model, e.g. IdeaPad Slim of one of the previous generations - before you decide to scrap it, check the availability of original spare parts, which often make it possible to restore the device to working order for a reasonable price.

Yoga Mini i, viral cashback and Lenovo beyond laptops

Lenovo is not just laptops and tablets - and the last few weeks confirm this well. The Yoga Mini i is a compact mini PC in a round, silver casing resembling a hockey puck, with an illuminated RGB strip on the underside. Powered by Intel Panther Lake processors, it is a stylish and powerful alternative to traditional box-shaped mini computers. For someone who wants a full-fledged PC on the desk - but doesn't want yet another grey box - the Yoga Mini i can be a bull's-eye.

In marketing, Lenovo surprises with its creativity. The company decided to use the viral "Six seven" trend from TikTok, turning the meme gesture into a concrete cashback offer on laptops. The campaign is aimed at pupils and students preparing for the new school year. It is an interesting example of how a global corporation can skilfully surf the wave of internet culture - without artificiality and forced "being cool".

Lenovo is also active outside the consumer market. The brand's High-Performance Computing infrastructure is supporting Ducati Corse in developing the new Desmosedici GP motorcycle for the 2027 MotoGP season - advanced aerodynamic and computational simulations speed up the iterative design cycle of the bike. At the same time, for the third time in a row the company has made Fast Company's "Best Workplaces for Innovators" list in the area of AI and automation, and the "Call Eva" initiative with Eva Longoria supports entrepreneurs as part of the Backing Every Business programme. Lenovo is clearly building the image of a technology company that is socially and commercially engaged - not just one that sells hardware.
