Do parts from the ThinkPad T460, T470s or T480 fit the T470?

Partly. The T470 shares a large part of its construction with the T480 (the next generation of the same 14" chassis) - many cases, bezels, hinges, cameras, antennas and cables list both models. The T470s, however, is a separate, thinner design (like the T460s) and its parts usually do not fit. Always check whether the FRU number covers the T470 - the safest choice is a part listed for the T470 directly from the list above.

What is the CMOS battery in the T470 for and which one to choose?

The CMOS (backup) battery powers the BIOS settings memory and the clock when the laptop is disconnected from power. When it runs flat, the date/time and settings reset on every start. It is a consumable part - in the CMOS batteries section above you will find a matching module with its FRU number. (We currently do not stock the main battery for the T470 - ask us if you need one.)

Which LCD display cable should I choose for the T470?

It depends on the installed panel (HD, Full HD or Full HD touch) - each type has its own eDP cable with a different FRU number. A cable incompatible with the panel will result in no image, so first determine your display type and then choose the right item from the Display, cables and hinges section. If in doubt, give us the FRU number of your old cable.

Palmrest for the T470 - with or without a fingerprint reader?

Choose a palmrest matching what you have: versions differ in the presence of a fingerprint reader and in the touchpad connector.
