In short: in a Lenovo ThinkPad X260 you can replace virtually every component — from the dual Power Bridge battery, palmrest and cables, through cases, to the motherboard. The most reliable way to match the right part is the FRU / Part Number printed on the original component. Below is the full list of X260 parts grouped by component — click to go to the offer.

Frequently asked questions about X260 parts

Do parts from the ThinkPad X250 or X270 fit the X260?

To a large extent, yes. The X260, X250 (predecessor) and X270 (successor) are the same 12.5" line with a very similar chassis — many cases, palmrests, bezels, hinges and Power Bridge batteries are shared. They differ mainly in the motherboard (X250 — Broadwell, X260 — Skylake, X270 — Kaby Lake), which you should match strictly by FRU number.

What battery does the X260 have and which one to choose?

The X260 has a dual Power Bridge system: an internal battery plus an external one, replaceable from the rear (3- or 6-cell) — the external one can be hot-swapped without shutting the laptop down. Choose the variant by FRU number. Separately there is a small CMOS battery backing up the BIOS settings.

Which LCD display cable should I choose for the X260?

It depends on the panel — the X260 came with an HD and a Full HD (IPS) panel. Each type has its own eDP cable with a different FRU number; an incompatible cable = no image. First determine your display type, then choose an item from the Display, cables and hinges section.

Palmrest for the X260 — with or without a fingerprint reader?

Choose a palmrest matching what you have: versions differ in the presence of a fingerprint reader and in the keyboard layout. Variants with FRU numbers are in the Palmrest, keyboard, touchpad section.

Which motherboard fits the X260?

The X260 used Intel 6th generation processors (Skylake), in i3 / i5 / i7 versions. The motherboard is matched strictly by FRU number — check the marking of your current board or give us your configuration.

What charger does the X260 use?

The X260 charges with a Slim Tip (rectangular) adapter, 45 W or 65 W — the same type as the X250 / X270 / T460 and many ThinkPads of that period. Choose a wattage no lower than the original. USB-C charging will not power the X260.

How do I check the FRU number of an X260 part?

The FRU number (Part Number) is printed on the component itself — on the battery, palmrest, cable or board. It is the most reliable way to choose. We described how to read it in our guide How to read a Lenovo FRU number.

Which X260 parts are replaced most often?

The most frequently replaced are the battery (especially the external one), the display cable and hinges, the palmrest and the bottom case. You will find all these items in the list above with their FRU numbers.
