The Legion Slim 5 is a slimmed-down version of the Legion 5 at about 18 mm thick (vs. 23+ mm in the standard Legion 5). Aluminum chassis, IPS/OLED display, cooling with a smaller heatsink. Parts are not interchangeable with the standard Legion 5 of the same year.

What is the difference between Legion 7 and Legion S7?

Both series have metal chassis and higher-quality displays, but differ primarily in GPU class and cooling system:

  • Legion 7: GPU class RTX 3070 Ti / 3080 / 3080 Ti, full TDP (150W+), vapor chamber heatsink, large power adapter (230W-300W)
  • Legion S7: GPU class RTX 3060 / 3070 (not Ti), slightly lower TDP, lighter heatsink, smaller power adapter (230W)
  • Legion Slim 5: RTX 4060 GPU, but drastically lower weight (1.9-2.1 kg vs 2.5 kg in standard 7) and slimmer profile - at the cost of cooling performance (TDP approx. 140W)

Is the RAM user-replaceable in Legion 7?

Yes, all Legion 7 15 IMH05 and Legion 7 16 models from the ITHg6 generation onwards have 2 SODIMM slots. The 15 IMH05 models use DDR4, the 16 ITHg6 and later use DDR5 (from IAX7 onwards). Maximum is usually 32 GB (16+16) or 64 GB.

Can the SSD in a Legion 7 be replaced?

Yes. All Legion 7 models have at least one M.2 PCIe 4.0 slot (newer models: PCIe 5.0). Some models have an additional M.2 slot or a 2.5" SATA slot. Check the HMM for your model before buying an SSD.
