🔧 INSTALLATION PROCESS

Based on the Lenovo ThinkPad X270 service manual:
1. Disable the built-in battery in BIOS (F1, Config, Power, Disable built-in battery), disconnect the power adapter, remove the micro-SIM tray and the removable battery
2. Remove the base cover and disconnect the built-in battery
3. Remove the memory module, the storage drive with its cable, the WiFi card and the WWAN card (if present)
4. Remove the thermal fan assembly
5. Disconnect all cables from the board, remove the board screws (including M2 x 2.2 mm, M2 x 4 mm and M2 x 2.7 mm, torque 0.181 Nm) and lift the board out
6. Place the new board in the chassis (the CMOS battery is already attached to it) and connect all cables
7. Apply new thermal paste to the processor (about 0.2 g) and refit the thermal fan assembly
8. Refit the remaining parts, connect the power adapter (this re-enables the built-in battery) and start the laptop
Hold the board only by its edges and place it on a soft, anti-static surface - it contains an accelerometer that is sensitive to drops. Installation is recommended by a technical service or a person experienced in laptop repairs.
