🔧 INSTALLATION PROCESS

Sequence for the ThinkPad P15 Gen 1 (non-touch version) according to the Lenovo Hardware Maintenance Manual (HMM). Other models may differ.
1. Turn off the laptop and disconnect power and all external devices
2. Disable the built-in battery in BIOS (Disable built-in battery option)
3. Remove in order: bottom door, keyboard, keyboard bezel, bottom cover and hinge caps
4. Remove the LCD unit (4 black M2.5 × 8 mm screws, torque 0.294 Nm)
5. Remove the LCD bezel by releasing the latches
6. Release the LCD panel (two elastic adhesive tapes, pull slowly with tweezers) and disconnect the LCD cable from it
7. Disconnect the camera cable from the ZIF connector and peel off the old camera module
8. Stick the new module in the same place and connect the cable to the ZIF connector, making sure it is fully seated
9. Reassemble in reverse order, using new adhesive tapes for the LCD panel
10. Power on and check the camera image, Windows Hello login and microphone recording
Replacement by a technical service or a person experienced in laptop repair is recommended.
