2. Unscrew and remove the bottom door
3. Remove the bottom cover
4. Remove the built-in battery
5. Disconnect the cable from the touchpad connector (CP end) and from the system board (MB end) by opening the connector latches
6. Insert the new cable: CP end to the touchpad, MB end to the system board, and close the latches
7. Reassemble in reverse order and connect the AC adapter, which re-enables the built-in battery
8. Boot the system and check cursor movement and the touchpad buttons
Replacement by a technical service or a person experienced in laptop repairs is recommended.
