🔧 INSTALLATION PROCESS

1. Turn off Windows Fast Startup, restart the laptop, press F1 and in ThinkPad Setup select Config → Power → Disable built-in battery. The laptop turns off, wait 3-5 minutes. Remove the nano-SIM card if installed
2. Remove the bottom door, the keyboard and the keyboard bezel assembly (palm rest)
3. Remove the bottom cover and the hinge caps
4. Disconnect the display and antenna cables, remove the 4 screws securing the hinges to the base (M2.5 × 8 mm, black) and take off the LCD unit
5. Remove the display bezel, take out the LCD panel and unscrew the old hinges from the display housing
6. Fit the new hinges (left on the side marked L, right on the side marked R) with M2.5 × 3.5 mm screws
7. Reassemble the display and the laptop in reverse order, tightening the hinges to the base to 0.294 Nm and routing the cables without tension
8. Connect the AC adapter, which re-enables the built-in battery, and check that the screen opens smoothly
Replacement by a technical service or a person experienced in laptop repairs is recommended.
