🔧 INSTALLATION PROCESS

Sequence according to the Lenovo Hardware Maintenance Manual for the ThinkPad P15 Gen 1.
1. Turn off the laptop, disconnect the AC adapter and external devices, and disable the built-in battery in BIOS (Disable built-in battery)
2. Remove the bottom door, the M.2 drives and the RAM under the door
3. Remove the keyboard, the RAM under the keyboard with its bracket, the Wi-Fi card and the WWAN card
4. Remove the bottom cover, disconnect the built-in and coin-cell batteries, remove the hinge caps and the LCD unit
5. Remove the cooling assembly and the graphics card (GPU board)
6. Disconnect the cables, remove the 3 black M2 × 3 mm screws and lift out the board
7. Fit the new board, tighten the screws to 0.181 Nm and reassemble in reverse order, applying new thermal paste
8. Start the laptop and check in BIOS that the processor, memory and drives are detected correctly
Note: the board's BIOS stores the serial number and machine type of the donor laptop (20SUS49E08). Changing them requires the Lenovo service tool (Maintenance Key).
Replacement is recommended by a technical service or a person experienced in laptop repairs.
