🔧 INSTALLATION PROCESS

1. Disable Windows Fast Startup, restart the laptop, press F1 and in ThinkPad Setup select Config → Power → Disable built-in battery. The laptop turns off, wait 3-5 minutes. Remove the nano-SIM card if present
2. Remove the bottom door, the M.2 SSD and the memory module under the bottom door
3. Remove the keyboard, the memory module bracket with the memory module under the keyboard, and the WLAN and WWAN cards
4. Remove the bottom cover, the built-in battery and the coin-cell battery
5. Remove the hinge caps and the LCD unit
6. Remove the thermal fan assembly, the GPU board and the system board
7. Remove the DC-in bracket screw (M2 × 3 mm, black), take off the bracket and remove the old jack with cable
8. Insert the new jack, refit the bracket and tighten the screw to 0.181 Nm
9. When installing the system board, connect the DC-in cable firmly. If the cable has a white mark, position it in the area shown in the service manual
10. Reassemble in reverse order, connect the adapter (this re-enables the built-in battery) and check that the battery charges
Replacement by a technical service or a person experienced in laptop repairs is recommended.
