🔧 INSTALLATION PROCESS

1. In Windows 10, turn off Fast Startup (Power Options, Choose what the power buttons do)
2. Turn off the laptop and disconnect the power adapter and all cables
3. Turn the laptop on, press F1 and in ThinkPad Setup select Config, Power, Disable built-in battery; the laptop turns off automatically
4. Remove the micro-SIM card tray and the removable battery, then take off the bottom cover
5. If replacing a modem, disconnect the antenna cables, remove the M2 x 2.7 mm screw and take out the old module
6. Insert the new modem into the M.2 WWAN slot, press it down and secure it with the M2 x 2.7 mm screw (torque 0.181 Nm)
7. Connect the antenna cables: orange to the Main connector (red triangle), blue to the Aux connector (blue triangle)
8. Refit the cover, battery and SIM tray, then connect the power adapter, which re-enables the built-in battery
9. Start the laptop, install the modem driver from the Lenovo website, insert a SIM card and check the connection
In the Miix tablets the modem sits inside the housing, so reaching it requires disassembling the tablet.
Installation is recommended by a technical service or a person experienced in laptop repairs.
