2. Remove the base cover screws and carefully lift off the cover
3. Disconnect the battery from the system board
4. Remove the M.2 SSD and the WWAN card (if installed)
5. Remove the heatsink with fan and disconnect all cables and antenna leads from the board
6. Remove the screws securing the board and lift it out of the chassis
7. Install the new board, tighten the screws, connect the cables and antennas, fit the heatsink with fresh thermal paste, then the drive and battery
8. Refit the base cover, start the laptop and check the ports, Wi-Fi, camera and (on the X1 Yoga) the touchscreen and pen
Replacement by a technical service or a person experienced in laptop repairs is recommended.
